What should I do if I feel unsafe about a workshop I’m hosting?

Speak to and message your attendees ahead of time to create a rapport and gauge what they would like to get from the experience.

Trust your intuition.

At any time you can cancel the workshop.

Ask a friend to call or text at a certain time to check in.

Have a friend or family member come along to the workshop. (You can ask them to take photos and give a raving review as well!)

Try organising workshops in a public space like a hall, library, innovation hub, or park.

If you're heading to a private home you haven't been to before, let someone know:

  • Where you'll be
  • The time you expect to take
  • That you'll text once done
